Sparta Systems Inc. has released a set of enhanced Web services capabilities for its TrackWise enterprise quality management software (EQMS). The announcement came during the Holmdel, N.J.-based company's participation in AdvaMed 2011.
According to representatives from the software firm, the new iteration's functionality reduces user administrative burden for global organizations in highly regulated industries such as medical technology, enabling "efficient and effective management of accounts and permissions across quality and compliance processes."
The latest release also includes a broader range of document control functions that enable the transfer of attachments, via a Web service, to other enterprise applications, company representatives said.
In today's economic climate, Sparta execs said, organizations in highly regulated industries face increasing pressure to deliver operational efficiency while maintaining an optimal level of quality. The new Web services features introduced streamline critical administrative processes for users and provide greater control for administrators.
Tim Mohn, industry principal for Sparta Systems, told Medical Product Outsourcing that a feature of the new version enables medical device companies to more closely and seamlessly integrate processes with their suppliers and contract manufacturers.
“Companies are outsourcing more to third parties—looking for closer relationships,” Mohn said. “Device companies are treating their suppliers more as a partners, and they to handle quality issues the same way.“
For example, Mohn said that TrackWise’s new capability gives device companies the ability to automatically alert a supplier about a possible quality issue. And because the system is Web-based, it does not require all parties to be connected using the same software.
The latest version of TrackWise software enables organizations to:
•Control and provision login accounts, user roles as well as specific permissions assignments directly from pre-existing enterprise applications.
•Automate the creation of user accounts for supplier and customer access portals and web forms, allowing staff to be freed up from non-value-add manual work.
• Enable interchange of unstructured content including documents, pictures, videos and other files between TrackWise software and other enterprise applications including EDMS, product lifecycle management and enterprise portals.
• Expose both structured and unstructured files and data through pre-existing enterprise portals, reporting tools and other established means of making information available.
“Businesses today are challenged with pressure to increase operational efficiency and deliver consistent revenues that can be reinvested in the company,” said Mike Jovanis, vice president of product management and strategic marketing for Sparta Systems. “The latest version of TrackWise addresses these challenges by giving organizations enterprise-class integration capabilities that reduce manual overhead and inefficiencies between business-critical systems.”
