Vante, Inc. has opened a new machining center and mold shop at its headquarters in Tucscon, Ariz. Vante spent $1 million on the project in an effort to better serve its customers.
“It [the center] accomplished numerous corporate goals, including reducing tooling order turn around time from as much as five weeks to about one week, allowing us to better serve our customers,” said Brent Fausett, Vante’s vice president and general manager.
A computer numerical control (CNC) lathe, which creates rounded external profiles of molds, and CNC mill, which creates square profiles, are among the state-of-the-art machines at the new facility. The new equipment enables Vante to produce up to eight molds per day, executives said.
Vante hopes to produce about 90 percent of its device components other than molds at the facility by the end of this year.
Vante’s primary focus is catheter manufacturing but also manufactures biopharmaceutical equipment.
