We are looking for an individual with a background in medical, financial, statistical or actuarial analysis to join our Product Analytics team in Franklin, Tennessee.
The position will be responsible for the analyses and reporting of claims, authorization, member and clinical data using business intelligence tools, actuarial, statistical, and analytical techniques to better understand and trend the efficacy of the products’ value propositions; develop insight into member and provider performance and the variables affecting performance; participate in research design and perform advanced population matching techniques for ROI and program evaluation analyses; identify opportunities in support of the sales and product development team to expand our product offering to existing and potential customers.
The Sr. Analyst, Analytic Product Development will have experience with claims data analysis, membership eligibility, statistics, and SAS software. The ideal candidate will have experience in bundled payments, inpatient stays, post-acute care, or similar areas of care delivery.
The ideal candidate will come from a managed care, actuarial, insurance, or similar background and is a proactive thinker, self-starter, who enjoys working in a fast-paced and challenging environment with the ability to work independently.
Position Functions
- Data analytic responsibilities include data prep, identification of appropriate analytic and statistical methodology and documentation of process and results
- Develop analyses, profiles, and statistical models to provide insight into member and provider performance and behavior
- Assist in specifying necessary data elements and analyzing clinical data
- Identify product development opportunities
- Provide results in an accurate and timely manner to both internal and external customers
- Effectively communicate results to key stakeholders and policy makers. Communication of results include clean and well-organized presentations to reflect analytic methods used and to illustrate key decision points with sufficient detail to support comprehension and replication of the analysis
- Other analytical functions as required
Position Requirements
- Knowledge of health care delivery system, particularly inpatient stays, hospital care, post-acute care, skilled nursing facilities, or home health
- Familiarity with health care billing practices, bundled payments, DRGs
- Relevant degree in mathematics, epidemiology, (bio)statistics, or related field highly preferred
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in a health care environment
- Demonstrated expertise with SAS software, including open code, macro processing and strong ODS skills
- Direct experience in the development of statistical models in SAS preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and deal with ambiguity in data issues
- Exceptional attention to detail and work product validation
