The MEDICA 2024 and COMPAMED 2024 trade fairs are expected to receive over 6,000 companies from 70 nations at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany from November 11-14, 2024.
“With a volume of approximately 140 billion euros, the market for medical technology in Europe is extremely important for many of our exhibitors. Regardless of healthcare policy debates, this is equally true for the German market, which alone accounts for 40 billion euros”, says Christian Grosser, Director Health & Medical Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf, explaining why exhibiting companies benefit. Grosser also considers the 2024 date to be set with a view to the trade visitors attending: “In order to be fit for tomorrow’s healthcare, it is critical to remain up to date by way of networking, knowledge transfer and innovations at the highest level. MEDICA in Düsseldorf has been providing excellent opportunities to do this for over half a century.”
MEDICA 2024 will host a comprehensive range of innovations for outpatient treatment and clinical use. Attendees can experience solutions for Medical Technology and Electromedicine, Lab and Technology, Commodities and Consumables, Physiotherapy and Orthopedic Technology, and IT Systems and Solutions.
COMPAMED will be held with MEDICA again this year where about 750 exhibiting manufacturer and supplier companies will be in attendance.
COMPAMED 2024 will explore Manufacturing & Devices (components, parts, manufacturing processes), Services & Advice (research, development, services), Materials (plastics, glass, ceramics, metals, composite materials, adhesives, packaging), Micro Tech (such as micro components, microfluidics) as well as IT in Tech (software development and maintenance for medical technology).
The trade shows will offer a top-class stage program with accompanying conferences and forums that will serve as a connection for exhibitors’ presentations and topic-driven special exhibitions. Featured topics include the ‘Wearable Technologies Show’, the ‘Hospital of the Future’, and the MEDICA SPORTS HUB.
Other MEDICA topics include recent examples of AI applications and robotics technology, as well as assistive systems used in everyday practice. Point of care diagnostics and treatment is another increasingly popular focus area which includes telemedical applications.
Individual forums and conferences will also address the human factor, discussing how most companies in the healthcare industry have been affected by a shortage of skilled workers.
The MEDICA Health IT Forum will discuss big data, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The MEDICA Tech Forum addresses trends and topics including business, science, and politics in relation to the medical technology industry. The MEDICA Connected Healthcare Forum is being replaced with the MEDICA Innovation Forum and will focus on the digital transformation of the entirety of the healthcare industry. Popular start-up competitions will continue to be part of this year’s program and will highlight new ideas and product solutions.
COMPAMED 2024 will include the COMPAMED High-Tech Forum and the Suppliers Forum which will reflect the top issues of the supply sector. Topics include AI, automation, robotics, new microtechnology trends, and material innovations. A discussion regarding the best international market development practices will also occur.
