B. Braun has released its new CareSite Micro Luer access device, which aims to reduce exposure to harmful chemicals and lower risk of infection.
CareSite Micro is a needleless connector not made from BPA. Made from a drug-resistant material, the IV access device can help reduce infection and drug exposure risks, which can result from stress cracks related to material and drug incompatibility.
It also features a smooth, flat surface for proper disinfection and a straight fluid path design to help complete flushing of blood and medications with a small flush volume.
"We are excited to introduce the CARESITE Micro Luer Access Device. Helping to reduce HA-BSIs and accidental drug exposure supports our commitment to the safety of the patients and providers we serve," said Angela Karpf, MD, B. Braun’s corporate VP ofMedical Affairs.
