AirLife, a North American maker of consumable devices for anesthesia and respiratory care (formerly known as SunMed) has completed the acquisition of Avanos Medical’s respiratory health business.
The acquisition, which was first announced in June 2023, includes Avanos’ BALLARD*, MICROCUFF*, and endOclear portfolios.
In addition to the three brands, the deal adds Avanos’ R&D expertise and two manufacturing facilities. AirLife, through this transaction, seeks to become a one-stop source for high quality, consumable breathing solutions.
We’re thrilled to complete this exciting milestone in AirLife’s evolution as we strengthen our leadership as a premier, completely dedicated consumable breathing products company,” AirLife’s CEO Hank Struik told the press. “We are especially pleased to welcome the exceptional team that has driven the success of these market leading brands to our company. As some of the most trusted closed suction and endotracheal consumables used to treat patients in critical care, this addition to AirLife unlocks new opportunities to accelerate our growth, serve more healthcare practitioners and drive innovation across our comprehensive portfolio of leading brands.”
AirLife’s portfolio of anesthesia products and respiratory care include brands like Salter Labs, Ethox Medical, Ventlab, Westmed, AirLife, and Vital Signs. The company’s portfolio spans the continuum of care from first responders to hospitals and home care.
Also in June 2023, AirLife (then SunMed) completed the transaction for Vyaire Medical’s consumable respiratory and anesthesia products business.
