Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, has acquired Aspekt Solutions, a provider of medical physics, dosimetry, and strategy consultation services. The company says Aspekt Solutions will bolster its Advanced Oncology Solutions (AOS) portfolio and boost its ability to tackle the growing demand for customized services and standardized delivery for cancer care.
Varian AOS combines technology and professional clinical support from experts with an array of clinical and operational experiences for “tailored engagements.” The Varian AOS teams work together with cancer centers to help meet goals for growing, upgrading, or standardizing operations. They also help the centers implement global best practices for cancer care.
"Through our AOS offerings, we've been leading the way in melding innovative technology with clinical expertise to help address these challenges," Varian’s VP of AOS Chuck Lindley told the press. "With Aspekt Solutions, we can support more oncology centers with a holistic approach to addressing today's challenges while also preparing for the fast-evolving future of cancer care."
Purchasing Aspekt adds over 100 technical, clinical, and operational experts in radiation oncology, radiology, and radiation safety to Varian’s staff. In addition to medical physics expertise, the company provides program and clinical management, technology services, consulting and compliance services, and staffing solutions.
"As part of Varian, we are confident that we will have more opportunities to empower clinicians and patients around the world," said Aspekt Solutions CEO Brian Pellegrini. "We are excited to continue our mission of bringing together the best team of physicists, dosimetrists, and consultants in the industry and partnering with clients to support and extend their existing programs and prepare them for the future. Our immediate focus will be on ensuring that the transition is as smooth as it is beneficial for customers and Aspekt Solutions employees."
