B. Braun Medical Inc. has gained U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its AQUAbase nX reverse osmosis system.
AQUAbase nX provides high-quality water for dialysis patients without using chemicals. The company said thanks to its design, it has up to a 75% raw water conversion rate that could conserve water usage and reduce costs of power, pre-treatment, and equipment maintenance.
"We are excited to broaden our portfolio of high-quality hemodialysis products with the AQUAbase nX," Jonathan Stapley, Senior Director of Marketing, Active Devices for B. Braun Medical told the press. "We now have a compact solution for smaller facilities that has heat disinfection to reduce the need for chemicals."
The system’s full stainless steel piping, according to B. Braun, is designed to achieve the lowest possible dead space in the main ring, which could prevent contamination from microbes. The compact, customizable systems range from 250 L/h to 750 L/h and AQUAbase nX can be used in hospitals, dialysis centers, or skilled nursing facilities.
The system’s seven-inch touchscreen display offer direct access to relevant settings and an up-to-date status bar, as well.
