Mindray North America has launched its TE Air wireless, handheld ultrasound in the U.S. The compact device can help healthcare professionals carry comprehensive scanning capabilities in their pockets for a wide array of clinical scenarios.
The company said TE Air is the industry’s first handheld ultrasound that can connect to either a mobile device or the touch-based TE X ultrasound system. It has flexible charging options as well to further improve accessibility. The TE Air app is available on iOS and allows one-handed operation.
"The TE Air is a leap forward in ultrasound technology, offering comprehensive functionality inside or outside the hospital environment," Wayne Quinn, president of Mindray North America told the press. "The new 2-in-1 innovative solution empowers clinicians to overcome the traditional constraints of cords and confined spaces giving them access to premium scanning capability when and where they need it."
TE Air also features a phased array with exam presets for cardiac, abdomen, lung, transcranial imaging, emergency medicine (EM), trauma, EM abdominal aortic aneurysm, bladder, OB/GYN, and vascular. Mindray said these options let clinicians conduct ultrasound examinations more efficiently and offer more accurate decision-making assistance at the point of care.
The device was launched overseas in March of this year.
