Ohio based non-acute medical equipment manufacturer and distributor Invacare, announced Kai Zhu as newly appointed senior VP and chief financial officer (CFO).
Zhu has served as Invacare’s VP of finance since April of 2022 and has more than two decades of experience in financial leadership. He succeeds Kathleen Leneghan, who plans to remain with Invacare until October 1 and will assist with Zhu’s transition before retiring.

Kai brings deep experience and financial acumen to the global leadership team and is well suited to lead out financial organization as Invacare enters its next phase of growth and development,” said president as CEO Geoffery P. Purtill. “I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Kathy for her over 30 years of service to Invacare and her dedication and resilience in leading our organization through a critical phase of our evolution. We wish Kathy well in her retirement.”
Zhu previously served as CFO of the Fire Fighting Group of CNH Industrial, holding the role as the multinational agricultural machinery and transport vehicle company since 2019. He also served as CFO of the dental equipment and consumables manufacture’s emerging markets group, as well as holding many financial leadership positions at Danaher KaVo Kerr Group.
