Rockley Photonics, a medtech company that delivers silicon photonics-based biosensing solutions by targeting a portfolio of biomarkers, has promoted Richard (Randy) Meier to president and CEO of the company.
Meier replaces Dr. Andrew Rickman, who resigned as CEO and will become executive chairman of Rockley. The role of interim CFO to replace Meier will be taken by Chad Becker.
The company also revealed Dr. Caroline Brown is stepping down from the board to pursue other business interests. Dr. Nicolaus Henke was appointed to the audit committee in Dr. Brown’s stead, and Brian Blaser will serve as chair of the audit committee.
“I want to thank Andrew for the commitment and leadership he demonstrated during his nine years as CEO of Rockley. His insight and support will continue to be important to the success of the company. I also want to thank Caroline for her contribution to the board,” Meier told the press. “I look forward to advancing our strategic vision, focusing on our three key priorities and positioning the company to capitalize on the opportunities that are ahead of us.”
Rockley will retain an executive search firm and begin the formal search for a permanent CFO.
