Dialyze Direct, a provider of home hemodialysis services in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and Chicago-based RenPro Renal Services, which provides dialysis services to patients in SNFs in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, have merged into one company (under the Dialyze Direct name).
Complimentary to Dialyze Direct’s own patient-centric business model, RenPro’s inception was the culmination of decades of experience in providing ancillary services in the long-term care space and a joint desire to provide an innovative care model and treatment experience to patients’ suffering from chronic and end-stage kidney disease. As part of the transaction, RenPro’s leadership team is transitioning into new roles within Dialyze Direct.
“RenPro began with a mission of providing superior dialysis care delivered with integrity and compassion,” said Elly Latinik, RenPro’s CEO. “Merging into Dialyze Direct was an opportunity to work with a company that not only shares this vision but also through technology and innovation continues to improve the treatment model of care to provide patients an improved quality of life while residing in the skilled care facility. We are thrilled to partner with Dialyze Direct and to make this model available to as many dialysis patients as possible and for the opportunity to become part of a team that is changing the industry.”
The RenPro transaction is the most recent in a series of Dialyze Direct’s strategic acquisitions and partnerships to bring the company’s on-site dialysis model to patients across the nation. At the end of last year, Dialyze Direct acquired Renew Dialysis, a regional SNF dialysis provider in Ohio and Virginia. Earlier this year, the company completed its acquisition of Compass Home Dialysis, a regional dialysis provider in Pennsylvania with on-site dialysis services in nine SNFs, as well as an outpatient dialysis clinic.
“2022 has been a year of growth and expansion for Dialyze Direct. From the start our strategic plan has been to identify and partner with like-minded health providers that share our commitment to changing geriatric dialysis for the better, and RenPro fits that exactly,” Dialyze Direct CEO and Co-Founder Henry Kauftheil said. “We are looking forward to welcoming them to Dialyze Direct and building an even better dialysis service offering to the patient population.”
Founded in 2015, Dialyze Direct is a kidney care innovation company that seeks breakthrough solutions for patients suffering from kidney disease. With a mission to build the next generation of kidney care, Dialyze Direct leverages its nephrology specialists to develop new methods and technology to evolve the treatment options nephrologists have at their disposal. Dialyze Direct pioneered significant changes to the existing treatment model for dialysis patients in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), in which many of the most medically challenging subsets of dialysis patients reside and has grown to become the nation’s largest provider of home dialysis in the SNF setting. Dialyze Direct’s innovative staff-assisted home hemodialysis treatment model entails a gentler, personalized treatment plan comprised of meticulously crafted protocols designed to tackle the unique fluid management challenges of geriatric dialysis patients, resulting in increased overall patient health and reduced hospitalizations while substantially decreasing costs for payors. Dialyze Direct currently operates in 13 states with new operations launching in additional states.
