The final countdown is on for Censis Technologies CEO Randy Smith.
Smith is leaving his chief executive post in two weeks after leading the company for nearly 16 years. “It’s with a mix of excitement and sadness, that I am retiring from Censis. Censis is a dedicated and caring team which has a passion for its customers and each team member. I have been truly humbled to be its leader over these many years, and I consider what we accomplished together a great part of my legacy,” said Smith.
Smith joined Censis in February of 2005 and was promoted to CEO in 2006. He successfully grew the company to become the largest surgical asset management solution for healthcare systems in the United States. His retirement is effective on March 31.
Censis has named Ankush Kaul as president. Kaul most recently served as vice president and general manager of Setra Systems, another Fortive operating company that provides innovative sensing technologies across multiple industries. Kaul has been with Danaher and Fortive for more than 11 years and has a successful track record of developing highly effective organizations leading to sustained growth.
"I have great confidence in Ankush, and he is well-positioned to take Censis forward with continued success,” Smith said.
Kaul earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering and received an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Ankush has already assumed his new role.
“I am truly excited about the opportunity to join Censis," Kaul statead. "Under Randy’s leadership Censis has grown to be the market leader in surgical asset management solutions, and I look forward to leading Censis in its next chapter of continued innovation and growth.”
