Tandem Diabetes Care Inc. has added three new members to its C-Suite.
The company has hired Rick Carpenter as chief technical officer; Libba Sapitsky as senior vice president, Customer Care; and Rizwan Pervez as senior vice president, Quality and Regulatory.
Carpenter has more than 30 years of engineering technology leadership experience. He most recently served as senior vice president of Engineering at Inseego Corporation, leading the worldwide engineering team and overseeing device hardware and software, cloud software, quality assurance, regulatory, and product certification and technical account management.
Prior to his Inseego tenure, he was general manager of the IoMT Business and the senior director of Engineering (April 2017-January 2020) at Capsule Technologies, a company integrating medical devices and wearables into a secure medical grade system that collects data and provides it to healthcare professionals for patient monitoring. From May 2009 to March 2017, Carpenter was senior vice president of Engineering at Smith Micro Software. Earlier in his career, he held various engineering development and leadership roles at Nextwave Wireless, Sierra Wireless, General Dynamics, Motorola, and Denso.
Carpenter earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science from The University of Texas Permian Basin, and completed coursework for a masters of science degree in computer science from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Sapitsky has more than 30 years of experience in global life sciences and consumer care. She most recently served as vice president of Customer Service and Operations at CVS Health, where she led contact center operations, customer experience, client support, continuous improvement and workforce management teams. Prior to CVS, she was senior vice president of Customer Service for Siemens Healthineers, leading a dispersed team supporting hospitals and practitioners with contact center operations, field services, customer education, and operational effectiveness. Before that, she was a senior partner at Kingsley Gate, a global executive consultative search firm with a focus on life sciences, technology, and financial services. Sapitsky also has been a leader in global human resources, operations, automation support, implementation, customer experience, managed services, and business development.
Sapitsky earned a bachelor of arts degree in english from The University of Texas at Austin.
Pervez has more than 20 years of leadership experience in quality, regulatory, and compliance spanning the diagnostics, point of care, in-vitro diagnostics, software as a medical device, ventilation, ultrasound, surgical, and interventional markets. He most recently served as global head of Quality and Regulatory Compliance for the Medtronic Respiratory Intervention business, where he established worldwide strategy and direction for quality and regulatory matters. He has held senior leadership roles in global organizations including Abbott Labs., Philips Healthcare, AmerisourceBergen, and GE Healthcare.
Pervez earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
