Casio America has gained U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its DZ-D100 DERMOCAMERA and DZ-S50 scope for skin observation. They will be available on the company’s e-commerce site by March.
DZ-D100 has been available in Japan since May 2019. Developed with dermatology professionals, it allows standard sized and close-up shots of an affected area with one unit. Free downloadable software can be used to manage captured images.
The DZ-S50 scope was released in March 2020. Standard and close-up shots can be taken without switching lenses, and the unit also captures non-polarized and UV photos at the same viewpoint. Both devices launched in Australia and New Zealand in February 2021.
