Getinge Group has appointed Jens Viebke as the new president of the Acute Care Therapies Business Category Unit. Jens will be a member of the Getinge Group Executive Team and succeeds Heinz Jacqui who will step down from his current position after four years with the Group. Acute Care Therapies is one of Getinge’s three Business Category Units and is responsible for developing technologies and solutions for cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular therapies and products and therapies for intensive care.
The Group has made significant investments in quality management systems in recent years, particularly in areas related to the Acute Care Therapies Business Category Unit. Intense focus continues to be directed to completing the necessary improvement measures for building up a global quality management system with the desired standard.
The product segments in Acute Care Therapies, where Getinge has a strong pipeline of new products, have significant growth potential and investments continue to be made in developing pioneering technologies and solutions.

Jens Viebke most recently served as chief technology officer at Acute Care Therapies and was previously the president of the Critical Care division in the Group’s former Medical Systems business area. Jens has long and broad experience from the healthcare industry and has previously held positions in research and development, as well as strategy and marketing, at other large companies in the industry, including GE Healthcare and Pharmacia & Upjohn. Jens has a PhD in polymer technology from the Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm and holds an Executive MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Jens Viebke will take up his new position as of June 6, 2016, and will report to Alex Myers, president and CEO Getinge Group.
