Jeffersonville, Ind.-based MedVenture Technology Corporation, a medical device design and manufacturing company of minimally invasive surgical and catheter-based devices and a part of Helix Medical, expanded its product design and development operations in Southern California. A company spokesperson told MPO that the expanded operations will be located in an existing Helix facility in Baldwin Park.
“We have a significant opportunity to advance MedVenture’s position in the western United States as a partner with global resources and proven expertise in minimally invasive medical device design, development and manufacturing,” said Mitch Moeller, president and CEO, MedVenture. “Growing our portfolio of operations and team of talent in California will foster collaboration with our customers in the regions where they operate.”
MedVenture expects to launch operations during the third quarter of this year. The company continues to offer integrated development and manufacturing services, including product design and development, extrusion and catheter development, assembly manufacturing and product life-cycle management—at its three additional facilities in Costa Rica, Indiana and Minnesota.
"As a part of the company's global growth strategy, MedVenture's plans to grow the California operations to meet our customer needs in the region, similar to our Minnesota operation that currently employs 25 to 30 engineering positions," the spokesperson noted.
Established in 1998, MedVenture specializes in the design, development, and manufacture of minimally invasive catheter-based devices for OEMs. The company develops integrated solutions for the endovascular, interventional cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, neurovascular, urology, oncology, and gynecology markets, among others.
