Web Industries Inc., a Marlborough, Mass.-based provider of contract converting and manufacturing services, named Mark Pihl, the company’s current chief operating officer (COO), as company president. He will serve as both president and COO for the company, stepping into the new role on April 1. CEO Donald Romine will continue in his current role. Pihl has served Web Industries in numerous positions of increasing responsibility for more than 25 years. This is Web’s second presidential transition in the 46-year history of the company.
Pihl’s career includes experience in executive and operations leadership roles and is “highlighted by his proven ability to apply world-class standards for technology, systems, quality and service to build organizations focused on scalable growth, financial health, and delivering industry-leading solutions for customers,” according to a release from Web Industries.
Since being named Web’s COO in 2010, he has been instrumental in realigning company assets and resources to better meet customer and market needs, supporting client-driven international expansion, and positioning the company for future growth, according to the company.
“Mark has both a long history with Web and the proven business talents to drive strategy and achieve positive results for both our company and our customers,” said Romine. “He is also a leader committed to our company values, to shaping our business to meet customer needs, and to the personal and professional development of our people. It is a testament to our continued reinvestment in our people that we can turn to him to lead as Web’s next president.”
“I am honored by this opportunity to serve Web Industries as both president and COO,” said Pihl. “I look forward to meeting the challenges ahead during this important time in our company’s history, as we position the company for significant growth. As Web continues to evolve in all of our strategic markets and expand internationally, we must be deliberate in our efforts to focus on our customers’ future needs, preserve our company’s founding values, and position the company for sustainable long-term growth.”
In addition to ensuring that Web Industries continues to meet and exceed customer and market expectations, Pihl will focus on sustaining key leadership development and organizational growth initiatives that were started when he became COO five years ago.
Web Industries is a provider of flexible material converting and end-product manufacturing services for the advanced composites, medical, consumer product, multi-layer insulation, and wire and cable markets.
