Nashville, Tenn.-based InvisionHeart Inc., a healthcare IT (information technology) company developing an advanced 12-lead ECG (electrocardiogram) solution, has hire Melanie R. Varin as its new executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Varin comes to InvisionHeart from GE Healthcare where since 2009 she served as general manager, U.S. sales and marketing, diagnostic cardiology. At GE she was responsible for a portfolio of ECG and ECG management products and services across three sales channels: direct sales to hospitals, direct-to-distribution sales to physician offices, and direct sales to specialty customers. Varin also led the global marketing effort for diagnostic cardiology for two years prior to taking on the USA sales leader role. She has over 20 years of experience in the medical device and imaging market.
“I am very excited to be joining the InvisionHeart team at this early stage of their development,” said Varin. “Their innovative and disruptive platform has incredible potential to change the face of healthcare as we know it today.”
“Melanie joins our company at a critical point in time as we build a pre-commercialization strategy in advance of market clearance,” said CEO Josh Nickols. “In this leadership role, Melanie’s knowledge of diagnostic cardiology and wealth of healthcare relationships will be invaluable to our market launch and growth. In addition to communicating our technology’s value proposition, this role is essential to understanding the future needs of our healthcare customers.”
