SIMTEC Silicone Parts, a Miramar, Fla.-based manufacturer of liquid silicone rubber (LSR) parts and high-precision LSR two-shot components, has announced a new production partnership with a global medical device company. SIMTEC will begin production in on a high-precision LSR component program for a non-invasive drug delivery system.
“We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this program,” said Enrique Camacho, president of SIMTEC Silicone Parts. “With our controlled environment and ISO 13485 certification, we are poised to expand further into sophisticated medical device programs for LSR and two-shot components.”
The company would not reveal the name of its latest client.
Production will begin this year with annual volumes estimated to reach 80 million parts per year. Multiple production units are planned for this program and a custom, medical grade LSR will be produced specifically for this application.
SIMTEC relocated to a new operation in 2013 and more than quadrupled the firm's previous footprint.
“Our new 80,000-square-foot operation is one of the most modern of its kind in the world,” Camacho said. “We now retain the infrastructure necessary to support sizable growth, while at the same time enabling fast time to market for new programs.”
SIMTEC serves the medical device, cosmetic, consumer goods, food and beverage, appliance, technology, industrial, home entertainment, and automotive industries.
