Stratos Product Development LLC has appointed a director of point-of-care diagnostics to foster its growth in both emerging markets and in-vitro diagnostics. Wallace White, formerly the director of Mechanical Engineering for Stratos, has been promoted to the position.
White has been with Stratos since 2005 and has led the mechanical engineering and manufacturing engineering teams for the last four years. Wallace has helped lead Stratos' efforts in diagnostics and global health solutions, performing field studies in point-of-care (POC) diagnostics for emerging markets and providing significant contributions to go-to-market strategies for Stratos clients. In his new role, Wallace will lead Stratos' largest global POC program and conduct targeted research, acquire worldwide subject matter expertise, and act as a strategic advisor to Stratos clients and internal teams.
"With Wallace White's leadership, Stratos is well-positioned to build upon our existing significant presence in point-of-care diagnostics. Over nearly a decade of working with our diagnostic clients, Wallace has gained expansive expertise in emerging markets and leading-edge diagnostic technologies. By dedicating resources exclusively to this market segment, Stratos will provide a greater level of thought leadership and understanding of point-of-care needs on a global scale, enabling our development teams to execute at a much higher strategic level for our clients," President Sean MacLeod said.
Stratos has provided development expertise in POC and central-lab diagnostics for clients, including Abbott Laboratories, Response Biomedical, Becton Dickenson, Atlas Genetics, Alere, NanoMR and Gen Probe. In recent years, the company has partnered with the largest non-governmental global health organization in the United States to bring new solutions to emerging markets in India, Asia, South America and Africa.
Stratos is a Seattle, Wash.-based product development, design and strategy consultancy specializing in medical product development and consumer electronic product design.
