The system received 510(k) U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance in August and completed its domestic product review in September. Equipped with state-of-the-art clinical technology, the UGEO PT60A features a full 10.1-inch LED touchscreen monitor; a way to determine the precise whereabouts of the needle's location (Needle Mate); sharper images with a noise reduction filter; and better spatial and contrast resolution.
“We are excited to launch the groundbreaking Samsung UGEO PT60A ultrasound system, which is uniquely engineered to meet the evergrowing needs of the portable healthcare market,” said Brian Keith, director of sales for Samsung’s Health & Medical Equipment unit. “This system underscores our continued commitment to introducing increased innovation to the healthcare market through our health and medical business unit.”
The one-touch measurement features of the ultra-portable and compact UGEO PT60A helps clinicians deliver exam results with maximum efficiency, the company claims. The system’s Auto IMT and quick diagnosis report can help providers make critical decisions more easily. This, in turn, enables fast and timely treatment for the patient.
The UGEO PT60A design also can help sports medicine specialists quickly examine injuries with easy access to common functions made possible by the sensitive full touch-screen and intuitive user interface. In addition, the ultrasound system can help specialists better attend to the injury by enhancing their mobility during the diagnostic exam.
