Ximedica, a product development services provider, has promoted Michael Pereira to senior vice president of technology and operations.
“Michael’s commitment over the last 15 years to ensuring Ximedica’s adherence to national and international design, development, and manufacturing standards,” CEO Randall S. Barko said, “is a testament to where our organization stands today and the unprecedented growth as an outsourced supplier we are currently seeing. It was only natural to promote him to this new role.”
As head of technology and operations, Pereira will lead all of Ximedica’s product development services (industrial design, engineering, research and strategy, quality management, among others) from early stage activities to manufacturing services and is responsible for ensuring the proper execution of programs guaranteeing that overall goals; including but not limited to, technical, financial, operational, quality, and compliance metrics are achieved.
Pereira has held previous roles at Ximedica most recently as head of program management and engineering. He holds a Masters of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
Ximedica executives have not yet named Pereira’s successor. “Michael has created a framework that serves our clients’ needs and we look forward to taking our organization to the next level,” concluded Barko.
Based in Providence, R.I., Ximedica is a full service ISO 13485 certified and FDA registered product development firm with an exclusive focus on medical products. With more than 25 years of experience developing medical devices, combination products and consumer healthcare products the company's client base spans the globe and ranges from start-ups to the world's largest OEMs.
