Vesta Inc., a provider of silicone and thermoplastic contract manufacturing services for medical device manufacturers, has unveiled a standard line of poly-olefin heat-shrink tubing. The new product provides customers with eight standard heat shrink tubing sizes along with supporting performance detail to assist in identifying the best option available for unique extrusion requirements, according to the company.
"Our poly-olefin heat shrink provides high compression force and shrink ratios at low recovery temperatures," said Apur Lathiya, vice president and general manager of Vesta’s thermoplastics business. "It is ideal for butt bonding, lap bonding, balloon bonding, and re-flowing. By adding a standard offering for our customers to consider, we are responding to their requests for high-quality product solutions that may help lower the costs typically associated with custom manufacturing but when unique requirements are not necessary to support the design of their medical device. Our leadership position in custom poly-olefin heat-shrink tubing made this investment a natural evolution for our company, and we are excited about the additional benefits in cost and lead-times associated with a standard offering. We can now address both market needs for our diverse customer base.”
According to Lathiya, expanded product offering builds on the marketplace interest in poly-olefin heat shrink tubing that the company has experienced since launching a white paper on the topic late last year.
