Tangent Medical Technologies Inc. has named Jeffrey Williams as its new CEO and chairman.
Williams joins Tangent from Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Life Magnetics Inc., where he was CEO. Before his stint at Life Magnetics, Williams served as CEO of Accuri Cytometers Inc. and CEO of HandyLab Inc., where he orchestrated the firm’s $275 million sale to Becton Dickinson and Company (BD) in 2009. BD also acquired Accuri in February for more than $200 million.
“Tangent shares a lot of similarities with HandyLab and Accuri,” Williams said. “All three companies target multibillion-dollar markets with products that offer advantages over the competition. The one major difference is Tangent will generate nearly 100 percent of its revenues from recurring consumable sales.”
Tangent is a development-stage medical device firm based in Ann Arbor, Mich.
