Greatbatch Medical, which designs and manufactures components in medical devices for the cardiac rhythm management, neuromodulation, vascular access and orthopedic markets, has opened an orthopedic design center in Warsaw, Ind.
The facility will be equipped with rapid prototyping capability and staffed with orthopedic development experts, according to the Clarence, N.Y.-based firm. The center will include three-dimensional rapid prototyping equipment that incorporates multi-polymer capability and direct metal laser sintering equipment.
“The addition of these capabilities will expand both our service offerings and our ability to effectively partner with customers in developing and delivering effective solutions quickly.” said Susan Campbell, senior vice president, orthopedics, Greatbatch Medical.
