DYMAX Corporation introduces a new light curing acrylic adhesive for bonding needles, syringes and other stainless steel cannula. MD® Medical Device Adhesive 1193-M-VLV is low viscosity for quick, air-free dispensing into needle hub cavities. DYMAX 1193-M-VLV bonds stainless steel cannula to polycarbonate, PVC, and polypropylene hubs. It produces clear, high strength bonds with minimal variation in tensile strength values.
MD 1193-M-VLV can cure in fractions of a second when exposed to high intensity UV light, such as that produced by the DYMAX BlueWave™ 200 Spot Lamp, or electrodeless focused beam curing system. This makes it an ideal adhesive for high speed, high volume, automated syringe assembly.
For in-line inspection, MD 1193-M-VLV contains a patented fluorescing formula, which is highly compatible with scanning and vision systems typically incorporated in automated production. As a medical device adhesive, DYMAX 1193-M-VLV has passed ISO 10993 Biocompatibility testing for elution, systemic injection, intracutaneous, implantation and hemolysis.
