FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA - August 1, 2011 - (http://www.testedandproven.com) DDL, leader in medical device package, product and material testing has recently hired a new sales engineer to partner with medical device companies on the West Coast.
DDL has seen an increase in the number of clients looking for engineering expertise on the West Coast. With DDL's current lab in Fountain Valley, the obvious solution was to provide that expertise by moving one of our engineers into the area.
"We felt it was time to have an engineer at our Fountain Valley location to work one on one with clients and potential customers in that area," Patrick Nolan, President of DDL, said. "Our goal is to partner with medical device companies looking for our expertise on failure analysis and recommendations on which test procedures are most appropriate."
Rob was trained by DDL's lead engineer Scott Levy in DDL's Eden Prairie, MN location before making the move to the West Coast. "Rob was a great candidate for this position," Levy said. "I was very impressed with his ability to handle a demanding workload while also offering a superior level of customer service."
Levy has been with DDL for 15 years and has helped a number of medical device companies bring their medical device to market. He speaks regularly at industry tradeshows and also co-chairs UBM Canon's packaging conference for MD&M West, MD&M East and MD&M Minneapolis.
Rob has a Bachelor of Science in Packaging from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Rob joined the DDL team in the Packaging Division in May of 2010 and later moved into the sales engineer role. Rob also worked for a third party lab during college validating hazardous materials for two and half years. "He had the experience and passion that we were looking for," Levy said.
"I am very excited to be a part of the DDL team," Rob Hoody said. "DDL is very well known in the medical device packaging industry and I am excited to act as a resource for medical device manufacturers throughout the West Coast."
"We are confident that hiring Hoody is a move in the right direction for DDL and the growing medical device industry in California and across the West Coast," Nolan, said.
